We have been actively exploring ways to transition, re-staff & possibly realign in order to continue serving our loyal patient base. We have decided to pause - until further notice - in accepting any new in-office primary care patients. Updates on this website will be posted as we continue to make some vital & very fluid forthcoming decisions.
Please scroll up and complete & submit the Medical/Covid-19 screen form for all medical issues at this time. Document also will inform you regarding the particular consult services and contact information.
I want to tell my Covid-19 story to praise and commend Dr Rosen and his staff for my treatment and recovery!
March 19th, Thursday I developed a cough. I thought nothing of it so I took over-the-counter cough medicine and went to bed and woke up with low grade fever of 100.2.
Watching the news and heeding the advice, I called my doctor first. Dr Somer called me back with a video call. Dr. Somer told me to take Tylenol, increase my fluids and rest, and to isolate myself from my family. Both Dr. Somer and Dr. Rosen diagnosed me with the Coronavirus just by my symptoms!
On Monday March 23rd, Dr Rosen offered me to come into the office after staff and patients were gone, to have a rapid flu test. My temperature was 98.6. He had left a surgical mask for me to use when I came into the office! Upon arrival, Dr Rosen was prepared with his PPE and brought me into an exam room. The flu test came back negative! The next test was the Covid test! I left his office to go home and rest! Dr. Rosen called me to check up on me and I told him my fever had returned and it was higher, 101°. Dr. Rosen said that he wasn't surprised and explain to me that the virus was acting that way with the fever.
On Wednesday, the 25th my fever broke and returned twice with it being as high as 102.8. I treated the fever during the day by letting my temperature fight the virus. No Tylenol was taken until I went to sleep or if my fever reached 103(never got that high)
I didn't even take cough medicine. I monitored my temperature all day. The highest it reached was 102.8.
Dr Rosen checked on me every other day.
I was still coughing on Thursday the 26th so Dr. Rosen sent me to the hospital as an outpatient for blood work and a chest x-ray just to make sure my lungs we clear. Everything came back normal! Thursday evening my fever was back 102.8. Took 2 Tylenol at bedtime and went to sleep. Woke up Friday morning completely saturated with sweat! My fever finally broke for the last time.
Still under quarantine for another week, and still NO test results! Dr Rosen keep telling me every day that the results weren't back yet. Got better every day. My quarantine and my family's quarantine ended on Friday, April 3rd. I finally got my test results back after waiting 3 weeks for the results and it was positive! Dr. Rosen did some investigating and found out that my test went to Virginia because of the backlog of all the tests! He called me on Sunday with the results!
I'm 100% recovered and my family is still asymptomatic! Dr. Rosen was so concerned and so caring during my virus fight.
Thank you Dr Rosen for all you do and for taking great care of me!
Sincerely your patient,
K.D.
My COVID 19 story began on a Friday night with chills and body aches and a fever of 99.By the next morning I was feeling pretty bad and called teledoc and they prescribed me flu medication, at the time I did not have a cough or shortness of breath and my fever was 99.
A few days went by and then I was experiencing pressure in my upper chest and an aching across my back. I visited the E.R. as my local urgent care told me that’s where I needed to go.
After several tests, I was diagnosed with double pneumonia in the lower lobes. I was prescribed pneumonia medication and advised to go home and self-isolate and contact my primary physician in 5 days.
The 1st week was challenging, to say the least. I was experiencing a very slight shortness of breath, I did not have a cough (yet) and my fever was remaining at 99. My sense of taste and smell were slightly diminished. It was difficult to even think about eating. I forced myself to hydrate and eat. Everything was an effort.
This is where Dr. Rosen steps in. (Week 2)
I called the office and Diane was so cordial and understanding and had me fill out a form so that Dr. Rosen could do a virtual office visit with me.
Dr. Rosen viewed my test results from the E.R. and said to me…..You are “classic” Covid.
The cough eventually started and Dr. Rosen prescribed some medication and also an inhaler.
He kept in touch with me on several occasions to make sure that I was doing ok. He spoke with me during office hours and after office hours.
It took about 3 weeks before I really started to feel I was making progress. During this time Dr. Rosen had me go back for more blood work, and chest x-ray. As I am writing this it is now 6 weeks since I’ve been in the E.R. and I am feeling good.
I’ve never been sick like this or for as long…..I am so grateful and appreciative that Dr. Rosen made sure that I was doing ok and keep in close contact with me. He watched over me and I can’t express how thankful I am that he is my Dr. I moved down the shore a few years ago and considered changing Dr’s so it would be closer to my house. After the care I received, that is not going to happen.
